Customer Requirements

Customers are responsible to ensure the following are met prior to the Installation:

 
 
Backboard (3 Ft x 3 Ft 3/4" Plywood Backboard) or Stud in place
Clear Line of Sight facing South
Building Owner's consent form completed
>> If the customer does not own building, Property Manager or Landlord, must approve and sign off.
NetKaster Subscriber Agreement Package completed and fax to 867-920-2331
 
Please review What’s Included in a Standard Installation. The customer is responsible to pay fees for any Non-Standard Installation services directly to the 3rd Party Contractor of choice.
Standard Installation

Mount the dish to an approved structure, a minimum of 2.1 meters (7 feet) above the ground (recommended 3 metres or 10’ above any pedestrian walkway) as required by Industry Canada regulations, using standard roof and/or wall mounting brackets.

A standard installation will require the use of a ladder no more than a 7.3-meter (24 foot) size.

Route two exterior RG-6 coaxial cables (each up to 150 feet in length, and a minimum of 50 feet each) from the dish into the location in the house where the satellite modem will be connected to your computer. If the dish is within 50’ of the modem, excess cable will be coiled at the antenna.

Within 100 kilometre radius to closest installer.

Provide and install the hardware required to properly ground your satellite broadband Internet system.

Install and activate the satellite modem and connect to a single PC

Verify Internet connectivity on a single PC.

Proper sealing of all exterior holes created by installation.

Basic clean up of all installation materials upon completion.


Complex/custom installations that may result in additional fees. Custom work includes, but is not limited to:

- Mouldings or cosmetic hardware to help hide cables;
- Non-penetrating roof, pole, or chimney mounts. Make sure you discuss any custom work with your installer before they begin the job.
- Mounting of antenna in a place that requires more than a 7.3 meter ladder
- Extraordinary site with extensive blockage of direct aiming at satellite.



Excessive cable runs of more than 150 feet (the technical limit), or difficult interior wiring conditions.

Driving distances more than 100 kilometres to the site, or extraordinary travel requirements such as airplane or boat travel to get to site.

Removal and/or repair of previously mounted equipment.

Networking or connection to a wireless network device.

Trouble-shooting the Internet connection and performance of your computer. Maintenance or clean up of PC, including the removal of viruses, firewalls, spyware or conflicting programs that may be slowing your computer's Internet performance.

E-mail configuration / changes to be provided by our CSR, not by the installer.

Interior refinishing (e.g. drywall repairs, paint touch-up etc. following interior cable installation.)
